Basketball Recap: Westwood Falls Despite Big Games from Cole Frailey and Krew Brinkerhoff

Westwood lost against Mountain View back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Westwood Warriors lost 53-29 to the Mountain View Toros. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Toros are ranked 81st).

Krew Brinkerhoff and Cole Frailey certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Brinkerhoff posted eight points and five boards, while Frailey put up seven points. That's the most points Brinkerhoff has posted since back in December of 2024.

Westwood's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-19. As for Mountain View, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westwood will take on Dobson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westwood is facing Dobson at the right time seeing as Dobson is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Mountain View, they will face off against Red Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Red Mountain has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
