It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Denton Broncos can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Colleyville Heritage on Friday, falling 71-13. Denton just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Lawson Floyd threw for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Sam Chandler was his top target, picking up 63 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, LaMarques Robinson rushed for 54 yards.
Leading Colleyville Heritage to victory were Braden Blueitt and Luke Ullrich. Blueitt picked up 68 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Ullrich threw for 116 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Bodey Weaver, who threw for 93 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Denton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Colleyville Heritage, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Denton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Colleyville Heritage will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Cooper will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 361st, while Colleyville Heritage is ranked 80th).
