Woodland Gets a Boost from Howard in 41-40 Defeat
Starting off the list is Woodland's Mark Howard, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Howard rushed for 247 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 85-yard run.
Woodland dropped their record down to 1-6 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. Howard and Woodland will play host again on Friday to welcome Ola, where kickoff is scheduled at 7:30 p.m.

A Season-Best Effort from Armond Parker Leads Locust Grove over Woodland
Locust Grove was led to victory by Armond Parker, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Parker threw for 312 yards and five touchdowns, and also rushed for 35 yards.
Locust Grove's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. Parker and Locust Grove will take on McDonough at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Nigel Newkirk's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his seventh-straight game with 106+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 206 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
The defeat snapped Ola's losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-1 record. Newkirk and Ola will venture away from home to face off against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Devin Edmonds Turns in Season-Best Performance
On Friday, Jones County got the W thanks in part to Devin Edmonds playing the best football he has all season. Edmonds threw for 219 yards and six touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Jones County pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Edmonds and Jones County will take on Eagle's Landing Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Rogers Posts Huge Game in 41-40 Defeat
The second Woodland player making an appearance here is Brayden Rogers, and for good reason. He rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries, and also threw for 64 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making four total tackles and defending two passes.
On the year, Rogers has thrown 3 touchdowns while averaging 66.8 passing yards per game.
