Clearview has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on The Norwayne Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Clearview's and Berkshire's match on Friday was close at halftime, but Clearview turned on the heat in the second half with 26 points. Clearview was the clear victor by a 33-12 margin over Berkshire.
It was another big night for Ethan Lorenzana, who rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns. Clearview also got help from Keith Colvin who showed off his sure hands for 82 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, even though Liberty scored an imposing 33 points on Friday, Norwayne still came out on top. Everything went Norwayne's way against Liberty as Norwayne made off with a 56-33 victory. Given Norwayne's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Liberty is ranked 457th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Norwayne's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dillon Morlock, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns. Morlock hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Hackworth, who rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown.
Clearview's win was their seventh straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Oberlin and 1-8 Wellington (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.7% over those games). As for Norwayne, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as the pair haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Clearview commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.9 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Norwayne struggles in that department as they've been even better at 6.5 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
