The Riverdale Ridge Ravens and the Fort Morgan Mustangs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing is sure in Riverdale Ridge's favor as the squad sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Mustangs have been banged up by eight consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
Even though Frederick scored an imposing 64 points on Saturday, Riverdale Ridge still came out on top. Riverdale Ridge snuck past the Golden Eagles with a 69-64 victory. Given Riverdale Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 128th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Marcus Hinh was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven assists. Josiah Fay was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three blocks.
Meanwhile, Fort Morgan took a serious blow against the Silver Knights on Wednesday, falling 73-30. Fort Morgan was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.
Riverdale Ridge's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Fort Morgan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17.
Everything came up roses for Riverdale Ridge against the Mustangs when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 109-60 victory. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Fort Morgan's Wesley Carnes, who scored 33 points along with five rebounds.
