The Leadership Academy Falcons had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They breezed by Bethany at home to the tune of 66-19. Leadership Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won five matchups by 31 points or more this season.
Leadership Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Martin, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. The match was Martin's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Burleyson, who scored 12 points along with five assists.
Leadership Academy now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Bethany, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-14.
Leadership Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Triad Math and Science Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Triad Math and Science Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Bethany will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bishop McGuinness at 7:45 p.m. on January 5th. One thing working in Bishop McGuinness' favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
