Tj Ortiz was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Brander Nichols was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Las Animas pushed their record up to 7-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Trinidad, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-11.
Las Animas will head out on the road to face off against Walsenburg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Trinidad, they will be playing at home against Crested Butte at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Crested Butte presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Trinidad in Colorado (Crested Butte is ranked 88th, while Trinidad is ranked 330th).
