It's playoff time, and Henryville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Christian Academy Warriors get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won nine games by six runs or more so far this season.
Emma McAfee made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Henryville got a big performance out of Mylee Marcum, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Marcum has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Allie McAfee, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Henryville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Academy only posted a batting average of .125.
The victory was the third in a row for Henryville, bringing their record up to 16-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.
