In what's become a running theme this season, the Auburn Adventist Falcons gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 77-35 win over Puget Sound Adventist. The victory was just what Auburn Adventist needed coming off of a 85-31 defeat in their prior game.
Auburn Adventist's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jonathan Russell, who scored 11 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Russell is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of John-Andrew Dubreuil, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Auburn Adventist's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for Puget Sound Adventist, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Auburn Adventist won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. Varsity Opponent has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 15. As for Puget Sound Adventist, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northwest Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
