Robert C. Byrd came out on top against Lincoln on Tuesday thanks in part to Ashton Shaffer's efforts. Shaffer scored two runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
