Basketball Recap: Spencer Campbell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Ohio Valley Christian

Elk Valley Christian proved they can win big last Monday (they won by 31) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Ohio Valley Christian 50-47. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Elk Valley Christian also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Elk Valley Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Spencer Campbell led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds. Campbell's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Evan Hines, who posted 15 points in addition to eight boards and three blocks.

Elk Valley Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Elk Valley Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Ohio Valley Christian, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elk Valley Christian will welcome Parkersburg Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Parkersburg Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Ohio Valley Christian and Bloomingdale will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
