Basketball Recap: East Bladen Sets Scoring Season-High Against Pender

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Bladen). They took down the Pender Patriots 66-47 on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jordan Hansley, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Hansley a new career-high in blocks (two). Malcolm Driver was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

The win got East Bladen back to even at 6-6. As for Pender, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

East Bladen will take on Heide Trask at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. East Bladen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Heide Trask likes a good challenge. As for Pender, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-50 victory against Red Springs on the 6th.
