The Miami Valley Christian Academy Lions entered their tilt with the Lockland Panthers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Miami Valley Christian Academy blew past Lockland 42-19. With Miami Valley Christian Academy ahead 25-5 at the half, the game was all but over already.
When it comes to explaining why Lockland lost on Wednesday, one person who can't be blamed is Jaylah Smith. Despite the final result, she scored six points along with 14 rebounds. Smith hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadia Harris, who scored five points.
Miami Valley Christian Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Lockland, they bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Miami Valley Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North College Hill at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. As for Lockland, they will head out on the road to face off against National Trail at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
