Softball Recap: Lake Fenton Wins High-Profile Game Against Goodrich

Lake Fenton faced Goodrich in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Blue Devils narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Martians 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Martians on Monday, they had to take a 4-1 loss.

Lake Fenton got a massive performance out of Parker Beardsley (Mott Community Coll, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Beardsley (Mott Community Coll a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laureena Baehl (2027), who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Lake Fenton's win bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Goodrich, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-2.

Looking ahead, Lake Fenton will host Fowlerville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Goodrich, they will head out on the road to face off against Owosso at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Martians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
