Cuba is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Sandia Prep is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Cuba Rams will welcome the Sandia Prep Sundevils at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cuba knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Sandia Prep likes a good challenge.
Cuba is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Bosque to the tune of 72-33 on Thursday.

Cuba got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Denale Sandoval out in front who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 18 rebounds. That's the most boards Sandoval has posted since back in December of 2024. Cara Toledo was another key player, putting up 19 points and five rebounds.
Cuba smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Sandia Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Cottonwood Classical Prep on Thursday, taking the game 49-39.
Cuba better focus on containing Madlyn Dopson and Taylor Calkins as the pair were huge in Sandia Prep's win. Dopson went 10-for-19 to rack up 26 points and four steals, while Calkins earned 11 points and six steals. Dopson has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Kyrie Lujan, who had eight points and five assists.
Sandia Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to assists: they averaged an imposing 10.71 assists in those games compared to only 10.71 in the others. As for Cuba, the win got them back to even at 12-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Cuba has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Sandia Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Cuba didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Sandia Prep in their previous meeting two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory. Will Cuba repeat their success, or does Sandia Prep have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
