Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Washington Waldorf walked away with it. They skirted past the Eagles 42-40. The win was just what Washington Waldorf needed coming off of a 73-17 defeat in their prior match.
Model Secondary School for the Deaf lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyler Burckhardt, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeramiah Whitehead, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Washington Waldorf now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Model Secondary School for the Deaf, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-11.
Washington Waldorf will head out on the road to square off against Sandy Spring Friends at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandy Spring Friendspresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Washington Waldorf in Maryland (Sandy Spring Friends is ranked 40th, while Washington Waldorf is ranked 195th).
