The Hampton Hawks lost against the Nebraska Lutheran Knights back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hampton took a hard 44-30 fall against Nebraska Lutheran. While losing is never fun, Hampton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while Nebraska Lutheran is ranked 108th).
Hampton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden Dose, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Nebraska Lutheran found their leader in underclassman Luke Otte, who scored 16 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Otte has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Eldridge, who scored seven points along with four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Hampton and nudges their season record down to 4-8. As for Nebraska Lutheran, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Hampton will be playing in front of their home fans against Cross County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cross County is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Nebraska Lutheran, they will take on College View Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
