La Vega blew past Non Varsity Tournament Opponent 83-23 on the road. Considering La Vega has won seven contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead La Vega to victory, but perhaps none more so than Monta Hilliard, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and three steals. The game was Hilliard's 12th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ray' Quan Kennedy, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
La Vega's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Non Varsity Tournament Opponent, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 51-172.
La Vega won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Glen Rose at 3:30 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Glen Rose knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully La Vega likes a good challenge. Non Varsity Tournament Opponent will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Bynum at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
