The Blair Vikings pushed their score all the way to 69 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 94-69 loss to South Pasadena might stick with them for a while. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (60), Blair still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Blair still got an impressive performance from Timmy Anderson, who scored 40 points along with nine assists. Anderson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Serigne Deme was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
Russell Williams was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with two blocks for South Pasadena. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Derek Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists.
Blair has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for South Pasadena, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blair will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Monrovia at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Monrovia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 893rd, while Blair is ranked 402nd). As for South Pasadena, they will head out on the road to face off against San Marino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
