Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps state rankings, Independence should expect quite the challenge on Friday. It's a road trip for them as they take on Charles City at 7:00 PM. Independence are limping into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Independence came up short against St. Thomas Aquinas, falling 6-20.
Meanwhile, after a dominant win in their matchup two weeks ago, Charles City were humbled. They took a 38-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Decorah-North Winneshiek. Charles City's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. We'll see which team satisfies their hunger and which team leaves with an empty stomach.
