Herington is 10-0 against Solomon since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Herington Railroaders will head out on the road to challenge the Solomon Gorillas at 6:00 p.m. Neither of these teams found much success offensively their last time out, scoring well below their season average.
Last Friday, Herington suffered a tough 46-21 loss at the hands of Goessel. Herington has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Herington saw an underclassman step up: Isabelle Ecklund scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 16-16 at halftime, Solomon was not quite Wakefield's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell 37-24 to the Bombers. Solomon has struggled against Wakefield recently, as their matchup on Friday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Herington dropped their record down to 7-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 21.3 points per game. As for Solomon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.
Herington was able to grind out a solid win over Solomon in their previous matchup back in January, winning 39-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Herington since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
