KAPLAN, La. -
Kaplan (La.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 46-6 win over Mansfield (La.).
In the first quarter, the Pirates put up 12 points. Kaplan scored on a
Kaylon Rudd touchdown run and a touchdown run by
Tyson Broussard.
After taking the lead on a Rudd touchdown run in the first quarter, KHS led 33-0 at the half.
The Pirates grew their lead to 40 points entering the fourth quarter. Kaplan's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by
Devonte Davis.
Mansfield's lone touchdown came on a 1-yard run by Latiedrick Pugh in the fourth quarter.
Coming into the game KHS had allowed 24.1 points per game this year.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Pirates, who lost to Notre Dame last week, 47-6.
