There's no place like home for Desert Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 71-43 win over the Santa Rita Eagles. Desert Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 20 points or more this season.

Desert Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyson Dobbins led the charge by going 7 of 11 en route to 20 points in addition to six steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matthew Jaegers, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 16 points.

Desert Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive contests.

Loss or not, Santa Rita got some senior leadership from Vernon Johnson JR and David Gonzales. Johnson JR went 7 of 13 en route to 17 points along with six boards and three steals, while Gonzales posted 13 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. That's the most points Johnson JR has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of James Green, who scored four points and three steals.

Desert Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Santa Rita, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Desert Christian has already played their next game, a 55-52 victory against The Gregory School on the 25th. As for Santa Rita, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-52 win against Tombstone on the 28th.
