After three games on the road, Guilford is heading back home. They will take on the Jefferson J-Hawks at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Guilford is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Jefferson in Illinois (Guilford is ranked 164th, while Jefferson is ranked 352nd).
Guilford suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Freeport by a score of 44-41. That's two games in a row now that Guilford has lost by exactly three points.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jefferson beat Belvidere 55-49 on Wednesday.
Jefferson found their leader in underclassman Abbie Bracius, who scored 25 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bracius has scored all season. Tamara Blackmon was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Guilford's loss dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Jefferson, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-13.
Guilford strolled past Jefferson in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a score of 49-34. Does Guilford have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jefferson turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
