Edna has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Blanco Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
With a playoff game on the line, Edna rose to the challenge on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Cobras out 27-24. Given Edna's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Industrial is ranked 354th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Blanco can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They breezed by Goliad at home to the tune of 34-0. The victory was familiar territory for Blanco who now have seven in a row.
It was another big night for Cameron Anderson, who rushed for 106 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevin Young, who picked up 61 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Edna has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2-1 record this season. As for Blanco, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Edna strolled past Blanco in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a score of 36-22. Will Edna repeat their success, or does Blanco have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
