After flying high against the Ridgeland-Hardeeville Jaguars last Wednesday, the Hampton County Hurricanes came back down to earth. Hampton County took a 39-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Woodland. Hampton County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Woodland apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Lyniah Kitt, who scored 19 points. Kah'Liyah Geddis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Hampton County's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Woodland, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton County will square off against Edisto at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Edisto will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Woodland's road trip will continue as they head out to face Ridgeland-Hardeeville at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Ridgeland-Hardeeville is ranked 188th, while Woodland is ranked 190th).
