The DeMotte Christian Knights will head out on the road to face off against the North Newton Spartans at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Hopefully DeMotte Christian focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up 26 on Monday.
 DeMotte Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  after their third straight loss. They took a  45-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri-County.
 Despite their  loss, DeMotte Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Sophie Bakker, who  scored 19 points along with seven  rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The  matchup was  Bakker's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  Audrey DeVries, who  scored eight points along with five  rebounds.
 DeMotte Christian  struggled to get the ball back on offense and  finished the game with only two  offensive rebounds. That's the fewest  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 Meanwhile, North Newton had to suffer through a rough  62-21 loss at the hands of Faith Christian. While losing is never fun, North Newton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings  (they are ranked 354th, while Faith Christian is ranked 171st).
 DeMotte Christian has  not been sharp recently, as they've  lost six of their last seven games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for North Newton,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 3-8.
 Everything came up roses for DeMotte Christian against North Newton in their previous meeting  back in December of 2022 as the  team secured a  48-11 victory. With DeMotte Christian ahead  31-4 at the half, the  game was all but over already.
