Softball Recap: Cloverdale Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Cloverdale extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 15-3. They put the hurt on the Fort Bragg Timberwolves with a sharp 12-1 win. Considering the Eagles have won 14 matchups by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Camryn Bird was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Grace Rhodes was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Emmersyn Reasoner, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Cloverdale was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .342 or higher in 11 consecutive contests.

As for Fort Bragg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games.

On Fort Bragg's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katelyn Burbeck, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Cloverdale has already played their next matchup, a 15-0 victory against Kelseyville on the 8th. As for Fort Bragg, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 8-0 defeat against St. Helena on the 8th.
