After a string of three wins, the Triton Central Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a hard 51-33 fall against Roncalli. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Triton Central has scored all season.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Collier, who scored eight points along with two steals. Silas Blair was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Triton Central struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Roncalli's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joe Taylor led the charge by scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Taylor has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Kegerreis, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Triton Central's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Roncalli, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Triton Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Indianapolis Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Roncalli, they will head out on the road to challenge New Palestine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Palestine has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 627 points over their last nine matchups.
