Softball Recap: East Catholic Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

East Catholic made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Somers, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles' pitchers stepped up to hand the Spartans a 15-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was just business as usual for the Eagles, who after three games remain undefeated this season.

Amelia Deschaine was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Deschaine was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Ciara Flaherty was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Flaherty is crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least three every time she's taken the field this season. Seven Freeman was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

East Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits every time they've taken the field this season.

East Catholic's win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, East Catholic is taking a road trip to take on East Hartford at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Somers, they will challenge Rockville at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
