Softball Recap: First Flight Extends Winning Streak to Five

First Flight had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They never let the Pasquotank County Panthers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The Nighthawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.

Schuyler Wilson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Molly Richards was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

First Flight hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pasquotank County struck out eight times.

First Flight pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pasquotank County, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Coming up, First Flight is taking a road trip to take on Holmes at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Nighthawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Aces have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season. Pasquotank County will be paying especially close attention to First Flight's match: after First Flight faces off against Holmes, they'll take on Pasquotank County again at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
