The Pawnee City Indians put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sioux County 55-22 at home. The result was nothing new for Pawnee City, who have now won eight contests by 27 points or more so far this season.
Jett Farwell was his usual excellent self, rushing for 219 yards and six touchdowns on only 13 carries. Anthony Kling was another key contributor, rushing for 95 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries.
When it comes to explaining why Sioux County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jack Hunter. Despite the final result, he rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown. Hunter was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards.
Pawnee City's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 35.5 points. As for Sioux County, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
Pawnee City will be playing at home against Wilcox-Hildreth at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilcox-Hildreth knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Pawnee City likes a good challenge. Sioux County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
