Cleveland and Bristow are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Cleveland Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Bristow Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cleveland is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Cleveland had to suffer through a rough 72-29 loss at the hands of Mannford. While losing is never fun, Cleveland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 348th, while Mannford is ranked 64th).
Meanwhile, Bristow waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Perkins-Tryon with points to spare, taking the game 62-46. That's two games straight that Bristow has won by exactly 16 points.
Bristow can attribute much of their success to Shalyn Edmondson, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds, and Addi Alexander, who scored 22 points along with two steals. Alexander has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. Abby Morgan was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with four steals.
Cleveland has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Bristow, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
Cleveland took a serious blow against Bristow in their previous matchup back in January, falling 83-41. Can Cleveland avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
