The Throckmorton Greyhounds will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Gainesville Leopards at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Throckmorton is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Throckmorton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 31 points or more this season. They breezed by Bryson on the road to the tune of 80-6. Throckmorton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Gainesville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their third straight loss. They took a 47-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mineral Wells. While losing is never fun, Gainesville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1183rd, while Mineral Wells is ranked 521st).
Throckmorton's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Gainesville, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.
