Gavin Howard Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Miami-Yoder's Gavin Howard, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Saturday Howard rushed for 367 yards and six touchdowns on only eight carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in September of 2023. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 69 yards.
Miami-Yoder moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Howard will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Cotopaxi on Saturday.

Diaz Came Up Big in Hanover's 82-19 Victory
Junior Diaz was instrumental in extending Hanover's winning streak to six on Saturday. Nobody could stop Diaz as he rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles and defending a pass in addition to snagging two interceptions both of which were returned for touchdowns.
This year, Diaz has run in 17 touchdowns while averaging 98.1 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 48.63 rushing yards per game.

Thomas Griffin Has Career-Day on Saturday
Hanover picked up their sixth consecutive win on Saturday thanks in part to Thomas Griffin. Griffin picked up 93 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up 0.5 sacks and made eight total tackles.
This year, Griffin has caught 5 touchdowns while averaging 37.4 receiving yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 7.13 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 22.5 rushing yards.

Mo Hussein continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his third-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 146 rushing yards. He made eight total tackles and defended a pass. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making eight total tackles and defending a pass.
For the year, Hussein has averaged 10.6 total tackles per game. It gets even more impressive: after eight games last season, he had six rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to 12.

Tyler Decker Turns in Season-Best Performance
Tyler Decker produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Hanover to the win on Saturday. Decker threw for 141 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. The effort also marked the most rushing yards (-8) he has had since back in September of 2023. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up 0.5 sacks and making eight total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
For the season, Decker has thrown 15 touchdowns while averaging 107.6 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he was only averaging 81.13 passer rating per game. This year he is averaging 131.96 passer rating.
