Baseball Recap: Tallulah Academy Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Tallulah Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over the Briarfield Academy Rebels on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Rebels last Monday, they had to take a 11-5 defeat.

JT McDaniel was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played dating back to last season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Luke Moberley, who scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Tripp Gayle was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Tallulah Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Briarfield Academy only posted a batting average of .259.

The win got Tallulah Academy back to even at 1-1. As for Briarfield Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tallulah Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against River Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on April 3rd. As for Briarfield Academy, they will be playing at home against Benton Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
