Baseball Recap: Fort Hill Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Fort Hill, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Berkeley Springs Indians with a sharp 9-0 win on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-5 on April 2nd.

Bobby Brauer was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Fort Hill is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Brauer was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, Fort Hill let Colt Resh and Jacob VanMeter run wild. Resh went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while VanMeter went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those two runs gave Resh a new career-high. Coye Resh was another key player, earning one run and three stolen bases.

Fort Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Fort Hill's record is now 9-5. As for Berkeley Springs, they dropped their record down to 1-21 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
