Two dominant guards in Kyah Vance and Nina Green are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lennard Longhorns will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wharton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Lennard will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 498th, while Wharton is ranked 64th).
Lennard can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They managed a 38-32 victory over Newsome.
Lennard's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Ashlee Lovett, who scored ten points, and Vance, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lovett has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Wharton unfortunately witnessed the end of their 14-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell to Tampa Catholic 47-41.
Lennard's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9. As for Wharton, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-1.
Lennard came up short against Wharton in their previous meeting back in January of 2021, falling 43-38. Thankfully for Lennard, Marinique Reddin (who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 17 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
