On Friday Allen take on Winside at 7:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close contest.
Allen strolled past Emerson-Hubbard with points to spare last week, taking the match 24-6. No one put up better numbers for Allen than senior Kyle Smith, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 115 yards and 3 touchdowns. In fact, with 12 tackles Smith was a force on both sides of the ball.
Meanwhile, Winside took a serious blow against Hartington-Newcastle, falling 0-47. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Allen's victory lifted them to 2-0 while Winside's defeat dropped them down to 0-2. We'll find out if Allen can add another positive mark to their record or if Winside can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Allen's step.
