The St. Bernard's Crusaders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eureka Loggers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Friday, St. Bernard's was just a hair shy of victory and fell 18-17 to Del Norte.
Wyatt Simoni put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Simoni is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Eureka, who are still winless after their ninth match. Their rough 38-14 loss to Fortuna on Friday might stick with them for a while.
St. Bernard's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3. As for Eureka, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9.
St. Bernard's barely slipped by Eureka in their previous meeting back in November of 2022, winning 7-6. Will St. Bernard's repeat their success, or does Eureka have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
