The Ridgway Demons won the last time they faced Non Varsity Opponent, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Ridgway sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 42-40 win over Non Varsity Opponent. The win made it back-to-back wins for Ridgway.
Ridgway's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Miller, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of Ridgway's points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Scranton, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Ridgway now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 40-76 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgway will take on Olathe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to face off against Concordia Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Concordia Prep is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
