After nine games on the road, Roosevelt is heading back home. They will take on the Dunbar Crimson Tide at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Roosevelt knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Dunbar likes a good challenge.
Last Wednesday, Roosevelt faced Ballou in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Roosevelt came out on top against Ballou by a score of 69-58. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Roosevelt to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabriel Hudgens, who scored 15 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamall Price, Jr., who scored 12 points along with six steals.
Meanwhile, Dunbar unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They lost to McKinley Tech on the road by a decisive 68-53 margin. Dunbar has struggled against McKinley Tech recently, as their match on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Roosevelt is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Dunbar, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-7.
Roosevelt beat Dunbar 74-66 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Roosevelt repeat their success, or does Dunbar have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
