Gold Beach (Ore.) captured the lead in the fourth quarter and held on for a 14-8 victory over
Knappa (Astoria, Ore.) on Saturday. The Panthers captured the lead for good when
Michael Romsa ran for a touchdown.
The two teams were tied at six heading into halftime. The Panthers took the lead for good on a touchdown run by Romsa with 3:00 to go in the fourth quarter.
CJ Maxwell stood out for Gold Beach in the win. The junior quarterback ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The Loggers' lone touchdown came on a 22-yard pass in the second quarter.
GB had given up an average of 17.3 points prior to the contest.
