The El Dorado Aztecs will head out on the road to face off against the Montwood Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Montwood took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on El Dorado, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, El Dorado beat the Bulldogs 40-32. The victory was just what El Dorado needed coming off of a 56-36 defeat in their prior contest.
El Dorado found their leader in underclassman Hannah Hicks, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Aralyn Nahle was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two blocks.
Meanwhile, Montwood suffered a tough 61-36 defeat at the hands of the Troopers on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Montwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 362nd, while the Troopers are ranked 132nd).
El Dorado's victory bumped their record up to 13-16. As for Montwood, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-14 record this season.
El Dorado came up short against the Rams in their previous matchup back in January, falling 43-39. Can El Dorado avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
