Niwot hasn't had much luck against Silver Creek recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cougars will take on the Raptors at 4:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Niwot lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Thompson Valley, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's contest. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Eagles on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Jagger Kilpatrick was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one home run and three runs. Niwot is undefeated when Kilpatrick posts two or more runs, but 4-12 otherwise.
In other batting news, Niwot let Drew Stapp and Charlie Shaw run wild. Stapp went 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one double, while Shaw got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave Stapp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haden Shaw, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Silver Creek won against Frederick on Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Raptors put the hurt on Centaurus with a sharp 9-3 win. The Raptors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.
Nolan Gaccetta spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Connor Lopez and Nathen Canfield did most of the damage at the plate: Lopez went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base, while Canfield went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jake Jensen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.
Silver Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
The victory (which was Silver Creek's fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-9. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Niwot, their record now sits at 7-12.
Niwot couldn't quite get it done against Silver Creek when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 4-1. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
