The Christian Academy couldn't beat Gloucester County Christian  on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Christian Academy fell  9-6 to Gloucester County Christian.
 Avery Burghart was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She  struck out 14 batters over  seven innings while giving up  four earned  (and four unearned) runs off   six  hits. Burghart was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with one  triple, two  RBI,  and one  run. That  triple was  her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Amanda Daniels made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  stolen bases and one  RBI.  Tori Townsend also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
The Christian Academy suffered their first home  defeat, dropping their record down to 3-5. As for Gloucester County Christian,  the  win  got them back to even at 3-3.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. The Christian Academy will challenge Faith Christian Academy at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. As for Gloucester County Christian, they will venture away from home to  square off against Cumberland Christian  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Conquerors are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
