Football Recap: Emery/Weiner Takes Down Incarnate Word Academy in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Emery/Weiner walked away with it. They took their contest on Saturday with ease, bagging a 62-14 win over the Incarnate Word Academy Angels. Emery/Weiner's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Emery/Weiner to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andres Schiller-Ordonez, who picked up 48 receiving yards and two touchdowns. That's the most receiving yards Schiller-Ordonez has posted since back in September. Sasha Fiterman was in the mix too, providing Emery/Weiner with three scores.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Emery/Weiner, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Fiterman, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Emery/Weiner's record now sits at 8-2. As for Incarnate Word Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Emery/Weiner will take on The Christian School at Castle Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Emery/Weiner will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last five matchups. Incarnate Word Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
