After both having extra time off, the Whitney Wildcats and the Granite Bay Grizzlies will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
Last Wednesday, Whitney came up short against Folsom and fell 3-1. While the Wildcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-16 in the first set.
Whitney started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-16, 25-11, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Whitney saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Balin Sillence-Dhamrait had 12 digs and 11 assists. Those 12 digs set a new season-high mark for Sillence-Dhamrait. Another player making a difference was Gavin Roeker, who had ten digs and four assists.
Meanwhile, Granite Bay had just enough and edged out Rocklin 3-2 last Wednesday. The Grizzlies haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Granite Bay was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 18-25, 17-25, 25-12, 15-11.
Whitney's defeat dropped their record down to 12-19. As for Granite Bay, their win bumped their record up to 17-14.
