The Mount Carmel RED TORNADOES will face off against the Hughesville Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mount Carmel comes in on three and Hughesville on five.

Nobody will forget Drew Yagodzinskie's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Troy's batters): he turned in a perfect game. Yagodzinskie has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mount Carmel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clarke Cartright, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Another was Brayden Brinkash, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.
Warrior Run typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday Hughesville proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Defenders by a score of 7-2. The game was the first time the Spartans have beaten the Defenders on their field since April 3, 2023.
Nathan Bieber tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jedidiah Abernatha, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Trent Wetzel was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Hughesville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They are 8-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Hughesville's victory bumped their record up to 13-7. As for Mount Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mount Carmel has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .441. However, it's not like Hughesville struggles in that department as they've averaged .454. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
