There's no place like home for the Aliceville Yellowjackets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They put the hurt on Holy Spirit Catholic with a sharp 53-28 win on Tuesday. This was payback for Aliceville, who suffered a 46-44 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Aliceville had a senior duo take command as Tyquan Simon scored 14 points and Lamark Richardson scored eight points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Davien Jones was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Aliceville's win bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Holy Spirit Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13.
Aliceville will head out on the road to face off against the Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Holy Spirit Catholic, they and the Rebels will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Thorsby knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully the Saints like a good challenge.
